Black Friday is well on its way to become a national holiday. It’s kinda hard to comprehend just how massive the annual shopping phenomenon is, but it’s even harder to deny the marketing prowess behind it. One thing is for certain - no other day whips this many people, across the nation, into such a frenzy.
This year, for instance, was the first time we noticed online retailers like Amazon listing “Black Friday deals starting on Monday.” Wait, whaa—- eh, it’s all semantics. But the smartest retailers know that it’s no longer just about the deals. Outlets like Best Buy are getting super creative by offering earlybirds a full Black Friday experience.

Check this out - at 9 PM on Thanksgiving Day, in-line Best Buy customers will be treated to a free screening of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2!” That’s pretty amazing. They’re testing the in-line movie premiere at the Orland Park and Hancock Center Best Buy locations, ahead of their first-ever midnight opening.

It doesn’t stop there! Dyson is getting in on the Black Friday action, teaming with Best Buy (Hancock Center only) to keep eager shoppers warm in Dyson Hot Pods. It’s a big geodesic dome equipped with the new Dyson Hot fan heaters. The pods are pretty rad looking. Kinda like… the inverse of an igloo. They’ve even got “line holders” on standby to hold spots for shoppers who want to warm up to a Dyson Hot + hot chocolate in the Hot Pods. Pretty ingenious!
Some All Terrainers will be on hand to check it out & have promised photos of the madness come Monday. Seriously - how long til Black Friday is a federal holiday?
