As we usher in a new year, we’re bringing you a new view inside All Terrain. We want to go beyond our day-to-day duties as an integrated marketing agency. Beyond what we’ve done and what we’re doing for our clients. Beyond industry predictions, trends and web gems.

Because an agency is only as creative as the people who comprise it, we want to spotlight the tastes of the people who are All Terrain. Every month, we’ll explore a new category of consumables — from fashion and food to music and movies. And every week, we’ll feature five favorites from a different All Terrain tastemaker.

After all, we’re an agency of creative influencers with a national reach, navigating world-class cities and extracting, every day, what it means to be truly brand aware. Because, at some point, a meaningful connection was made with the brands that we choose to use, we’re just paying it forward.

This month, we’re spotlighting mobile apps. Whether fun, functional or addictive, these are our personal must-have apps for your smartphone or tablet.

1.) Mint | Free
It compiles all your bank accounts (from checking accounts to store credit cards to auto loans) and tells you exactly what you owe and what you’ve got in cash. It automatically links to your accounts so you have up to the minute info (especially useful when at the checkout wondering if you’ve got enough moolah to make the purchase). It categorizes your spendings, too, and tells you if you’re going over what you typically spend (i.e. “you’ve spent $88 more on groceries than you did last month”). Keeps me in check!
2.) Gilt | Free
If you don’t know about Gilt.com, check it out. It’s the app version of the website that sells designer duds and cool home furnishings at a discounted price. But things go fast, so I love the app because no matter where I am, I can snatch up the goods!
3.) Walgreens | Free
I can refill my prescriptions with a snap of a photo and it alerts me when they’re ready for pickup. I can also check how many refills I have til I have to harass my doctor for a new prescription!
4.) CAC | Free
If you belong to any of the Chicago Athletic Clubs — this app is great. It lets you see which gyms are hosting which group fitness classes at which time that day. So if I’m ready to head to the gym and unsure of if I’m feeling like a spin class or boxing, I can check the calendar and see who is offering what!
5.) Alarm Clock | $.99
I don’t trust the free version- I allowed me to oversleep once and I never forgave it. So for a buck, I upgraded and now I can wake up to the likes of Eminem and Adele and I can hit snooze and a new song will play 10 minutes later!

We’ll spotlight another staffer’s five favorite apps next week. As always, thanks for keeping up with All Terrain!
