A very happy birthday to All Terrain Program Manager Kate Hayford!
As is customary for staff birthdays, we gathered for a hearty breakfast of champions to start the workday — Dunkin Donuts!
Kate downloaded us on her weekend celebration, which included drinks at The Pump Room and karaoke (‘til 5 AM) at Chicago’s best kept secret, Blackhawk V.F.W. Post 7975. It’s an actual V.F.W., but opens to the public on the weekends. According to Time Out Chicago, it has “a drop ceiling and all the charm of a middle-school classroom.” As expected, the drinks are cheap ($3 for a gin & tonic). But be forewarned: “the party people arrive after midnight.”
We also welcomed back our designer Kristy Bittles, who returned yesterday from a life-changing two week excursion through Africa (Dakar and Mali). She’s uploading her pix this morning, plenty of which will be posted here in the days to come!
