Part Concert, Part Dinner Party, Total Backstage Adventure

Last night’s Galapalooza was an amazing evening- perfectly setting the stage for this weekend’s Lollapalooza.

After several months of promoting, designing the graphics (for the save-the-date, invitation, program and wearbles), and securing A-list sponsors such as Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Kilo Kai spiced rum, and Wirtz Beverage, the night had finally arrived.  And due to the collective promoting power of Parkways Foundation Committee members, and All Terrain, Galapalooza experienced growth of several hundred additional guests.

Highlights for the evening included performances by DJ White Shadow, Hey Champ! and Vampire Weekend.  As well as high profile guests Mr. & Mrs. Daley, Perry Farrel, Marissa Molinaro and Jerry Kleiner, Brad Moore, Charlie Jones & the C3 guys, Danny & Anne Wirtz, among many others.

Additional activities included a black & white and color photo booth, a silent auction, and performances by Redmoon Theatre.  The food was both decadent and playful, including mini Chinese food carry out boxes, multiple versions of the Chicago hot dog, chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick, Mojito lollypops, metallic raspberry truffles and much more!Since 2005, Lollapalooza and Galapalooza have raised over $4 million, allowing Parkways to fund new projects and launch youth programs in parks that directly impact the lives of Chicagoans.

Check out two great write ups on the event here and here.
