Speed Date with All Terrain!
Inspired by the Facebook’s “25 Random Facts” craze, we recently took a “speed dating” approach to introducing our company to a potential client. We thought we might as well share our nuggets with the rest of the world:
- Every spring, at least half our HQ staff is repeatedly attacked by a territorial red winged blackbird while biking to & from work. Our story became a human interest story that circled the globe last year.
- When Brook and Sarah met they were driving matching Saturn SC-2’s and carrying pagers. We have since upgraded to cell phones … lots and lots of cell phones.
- We host a private Yoga session every Wednesday morning. We figure if we can all master the Flying Crow, anything is possible … and maybe the red winged blackbird will have to respect our author-i-tie.
- One of All Terrain’s first events featured a midget in armor and a “strong man” that hung things from his nipples. We’ve come a long way in 11 years, but like to think that we haven’t lost our edge.
- Clare used to be an Irish Step Dancer AND a Hip Hop lyricist. We think her stage name should have been Oh Danny Souja Boy.
- To keep fit and “try to be cool” Tara and Meghan take weekly Hip Hop dance lessons with a bunch of 14 year olds. What’s with all the Hip Hop?
- Our PR Director’s mom is occasionally called upon to spot-check promotional teams in Salt Lake City area malls.
- The office secretly collects “Jeff-isms” – frequent, unexpected nuggets that an Account Director uses to punctuate a situation. We are not sure when or how we’ll use them, but it’s a practical joke several years in the making.
- The story about the San Jose office that was evacuated due to the condition of the refrigerator/freezer struck a little too close to home.
- It would take both an origamist and a code-breaker to re-create one of Tom’s to-do lists.
- We host office-wide “all terrainks-giving” potlucks where everyone offers up what they consider to be their specialty … the competition runs high.
- We are a viral office. Sarah volunteered at PAWS, so Tara started fostering pets and so did Eric and Holly and Kristin and Tom, who adopted his!
