Did you happen to catch Sunday’s season two premiere of Sandwich King on Food Network? The 10 AM airing marked the return of the hit series hosted by Chicago’s Jeff Mauro, winner of Food Network Star Season 7. You best believe that we All Terrain’ers have a DVR season pass. And not just because we’re obsessed with food or fond of hometown hosts.

It’s because, for over a year, Jeff’s sister Emily Mauro (pictured with Jeff) is the first face people see when they arrive at All Terrain! If Jeff Mauro is ‘The Sandwich King,’ then one of our most beloved co-workers is totally some type of royalty, right?

From cooking In the Kitchen on the ABC morning news to joining Jonathan Brandmeier for a live installment of WGN Radio’s Hometown Voices, Jeff made the media rounds last week, hyping the start of season two. If you missed Sunday’s Sandwich King premiere, don’t sweat it; just make a mental note to set the DVR when you get home this evening!
One of the benefits of working with Jeff’s sister? She’s privy to a few tasty nuggets about the show and its upcoming episodes! According to Emily:
- All 13 episodes in season two were shot entirely in the Chicagoland area, making it the first ever Food Network show to do so.
- The show is produced by Bobby Flay’s Rock Shrimp Productions.

- Among the spots her brother visits in season two: Palace Grill, Sugar Fixé Pâtisserie, Chicago’s French Market, Danny’s Café and Bernard’s Deli, “which is owned and operated by our Aunt Rita and Uncle Joel.”
This Sunday at 10 AM, we invite you to join our family affair and break bread with Chicago’s own Sandwich King. Exciting eats ahead!
