Welcome to the Bud House

Everyone is talking about “cups” in the last few weeks but now that Chicago’s taken the Stanley one (woo hoo!) we’re ready to focus on another cup, the 2010 World Cup.

One company – an All Terrain client & official beer sponsor of the 2010 World Cup – is taking a pretty creative tack to the world’s most popular sporting event with the creation of Bud House, located in Cape Town, South Africa.

This year, to celebration the World Cup in South Africa, Budweiser picked 32 World Cup super fans (one from every team’s country) to literally live in a house, work together (er, ok they don’t have a job while at the house), play together (fun challenges, obstacles to keep them entertained when there are no games being played) and have their lives taped (for an online reality show) … every day at www.youtube.com/user/BudUnited fans can find out what happens when these people stop being nice (they’re soccer/futbol SUPER fans after all) and start getting real (really, really competitive!). A competitor’s reign in the house is determined by how long their country’s team is still in play in the World Cup and by the consumer-voted “You Decide” tab, also located at www.youtube.com/user/BudUnited.

So far, contestants have partaken in ostrich-riding races, a cooking demonstration (using Budweiser as an ingredient), some typical reality show drama (of course!) and watched house and hours of World Cup games, cheering for their home-country teams! Videos are posted daily at www.youtube.com/user/BudUnited.
