Brook, who spent the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, sent us this picture last night with the simple text “Shameless!!!”

Brook Jay. William H. Macy. Annnnd that’s all the story we got.

She’s headed back to Chicago now. Hopefully armed with the details behind this encounter and many others. Stay tuned…

Another exclusive check-in from inside the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, courtesy of All Terrain’s Kevin Boyer.

Hands down, the most impressive update from the trade show floor is a preview of BrainWave TV. Say what? Kevin writes, “Yes you read that correctly … BrainWave TV. Apparently, the headset allows the user to control the game interface with thoughts . Dude was also moving his head a little, but it’s supposedly unnecessary.”

Back here in Chicago, we were so intrigued that we did a little digging of our own. Not surprisingly, the neuro-driven device is already available in China and retails for $3,000. No firm market debut in the states.

Kevin’s next stop attempted next stop was the Samsung display…

“Samsung has a huge exhibit where they’re offering people a chance to demo their 3D gesture, voice and touch TV interfaces. THIS was the line for that. Nobody puts Baby in a corner… or in a product demo line.” Uhhh, NEXT!

Still kickin’ around the Samsung universe, Kevin settled on the Galaxy Note.

“This is the new, much-hyped Galaxy Note. Next to it is my Galaxy S2, which is a large width phone already. The Galaxy Note has a stylus and feels like a cross between a tablet and phone. The new Galaxy Nexus phone (not pictured) is probably a better fit for the guy or gal on the go. Narrower than the S2, it would certainly fit in @brookjay’s clutch.”

We’re guessing that Kevin would’ve told us if he ran into Justin Bieber — so until further notice, we’ll assume that didn’t happen. Biebs was on hand to unveil the mROBO, a portable speaker and dancing robot, at the TOSY Robotics booth.

Because details of this new gadget are still rather unclear, we can’t confirm or deny that the robot is, indeed, playing music from his genital region.

That’s all for now. Another big thanks to Kevin for his trade show transmissions! He did send over some video files, which we’re currently in the process of uploading. Expect to see more All Terrain exclusive CES 2012 content come Monday.

Checking in with a few sights and stories from inside this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, courtesy of our very own Kevin Boyer. The annual technology trade show has become the world’s largest and one of the most regarded forecasts for tech trends of the coming year and beyond. Closed to the general public, CES regularly showcases cutting-edge product previews and major announcements from the world’s leading brands — and All Terrain is on the inside!

Shortly after arriving, Kevin sent his first update. The subject of which read, “It IS Vegas!” He went on to explain that these talented young ladies were on hand to encourage CES attendees “to enter the drawing.” A drawing for what? We’re not sure… and not sure that it matters.

Next up, Kevin sent over this shot and called it “a great example of trade show experiential marketing.” Given that experiential is All Terrain’s bag, we’re particularly interested in these types of displays. Kevin continued his review, “It’s a well lit modern booth with a great design. They’re playing current music. They had a great looking and approachable staff. It definitely made me want to buy these mobile accessories.” Fascinating dissection of the subconscious subtlety that truly does impart a first and lasting impression.

His final CES check-in of the morning is certainly intriguing to the technophiles. Kevin explains, “Victronix Swiss Army is here with a knife-shaped USB drive.” Read that again — a “knife-shaped USB drive.”  Rad. He continues, “what makes this one unique, aside from the design, is the massive size (up to 128 gigabytes) and the ability to store files on a secure section of the drive. Security? Thumb imprint. These come without the knives in case you don’t want to lose your beautiful Swiss Army USB to TSA.”

To supplement All Terrain’s presence at the big show, we found an insightful piece from PC World, which contends that the headline for CES 2012 is unanimous: Mobile Technology Will Dominate Everything.

Insiders say that tablets will become significantly less expensive, laptops will get even thinner and cameras will become more like smartphones. Apps will be everywhere, including cars. And Microsoft’s phone-inspired Windows 8 will inch closer to release.

Thanks to AT’s Kevin Boyer for giving us a look inside CES! More on-the-scene reports from Las Vegas as we get them…

Reason #561 why working at All Terrain rules:

I received the below email from Kevin today, politely petitioning our blog to promote the day of reckoning.

I mean, who says ‘please’ when dealing in doomsdays? Too kind, Kev. Too kind.

Ask and ye shall receive:

Buckle up, y’all. The sands of time — errr, this widget — are sinking.

Supposing, if only for a moment, that the Mayan prophecies are correct, how does it all go down?

Is Earth merely a casualty of an intergalactic battle between dragons and unicorns? Does a robotic incarnation of Gallagher appear in the clouds and smash the planets with his sledge? Or perhaps the clock is off by two months and we’re all toast following a Cubs World Series win?

The possibilities are endless.

Leave us a blog comment, Facebook post or tweet and share your finest intuition on the coming crack of doom. We’ll feature the finest forecasts here tomorrow.
