Last week, we celebrated our inaugural All Terrain Conference. This week, we’re giving you the highlights in… 40 seconds.

Held over two days in Chicago, the company-centric events with a team-building tone contained an insightful blend of past, present and future All Terrain dealings.

On Wednesday, we gathered at The Blackstone where, following a team breakfast, co-owners Brook Jay and Sarah Eck presented a full overview of how All Terrain came to be. Each of our internal divisions then took a turn presenting their day-to-day ins and outs. Through the seminars, our staff undoubtedly gained a more complete grasp of company practices, targets and future plans.

A post-conference dinner was held at Zapatista, where may have set a world record for “most margaritas consumed by 25 people in 3 hours.” Don’t quote me on that.

On Thursday, the conference concluded with a fun-only field trip to Lucky Strike for an afternoon full of gutters.

The inaugural All Terrain Conference was a riveting reminder that we’re very fortunate to work alongside smart minds in a fun atmosphere for a growing company with great clients. You can quote me on that.

A Day with the Stanley Cup and the Blackhawks

The day of the rally my friend Charlie and some pals from Park City and I made our way down thru the madness (quite easily to our surprise ) to the Hyatt where Rocky Wirtz and the Blackhawks were hosting a private post rally party. I was making my way to the restroom as all the Hawks started to enter the building. Having worked with these guys for past two years, it was so fun to get a minute to give a celebratory hug or high five to the guys I know best. And while you would think that after 48 hours plus of celebration these players, coaches and owners would have been dragging or tired of talking about the win … but they were all gracious and equally as excited as we were. I had my very own moment with the Cup which I will never forget. It has been an honor to work alongside the Blackhawks as they grow their notoriety and popularity through hard work, great decision making on behalf of management and a camaraderie between the players and fans that is truly special.

Good job Hawks … we are proud of you!!

Chicago Magazine’s 10th Annual Summer Lovin’ event is THIS FRIDAY (June 18) from 7:00 – 10:30 p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Each year, Chicago Magazine (an All Terrain client) showcases Chicago’s 20 most outstanding singles for 2010. This year the list includes Cubs pitcher Randy Wells and Chicago Red Stars women’s soccer player Natalie Spilger, among the other notable singles in Chicago.

I was honored to be chosen as one of the 20 most eligible single people in the city and suburbs of Chicago by Chicago Magazine in 2002. It was great exposure for All Terrain! I met great people through the process and when the edition came out I did get lots of attention from friends, family … people on the street even stopped me to ask if I was the person in the magazine! And I guess, most important to the concept, I got asked out on a ton of dates!

All proceeds of this fun annual event go to the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute.
