Happy Friday from All Terrain! Two fun items to kick off a super weekend:

First, if you’re planning to watch Sunday’s big game with a group, dazzle the room by flexing some fun facts about Super Bowl XLVI.

  1. This year, a 30-second commercial costs $3.5 million, up $400,000 from last year. That’s some serious inflation! (credit: Superbowl-ads.com)
  2. Americans are expected to consume an estimated 71.4 million pounds of avocados on Sunday alone. (credit: Hass Avocado Board)
  3. It’s a common misconception that the 1983 series finale of M*A*S*H is still the most-watched broadcast in US history. Not so. In 2010, the Super Bowl between the Saints and Colts took that trophy. Only to be toppled a year later when 111 million people caught last year’s Packers and Steelers Super Bowl. (credit: Nielsen)
  4. Both the New York Giants and New England Patriots have each won three Super Bowl titles. The Giants took XXI in 1986, XXV in 1990, and XLII in 2007. The Pats claimed XXXVI in 2001, XXXVIII in 2003, and XXXIX in 2004.
  5. Opening coin toss winners are 22-23 in the Super Bowl. Broken down even further, the Patriots are 1-5 in calling the toss and the NFC has notched the last 14 consecutive tosses.

Next, a hilarious share from Brook; it’s the second of Sh*t Fashion Girls Say! If you find yourself with a “fashion girl” at your Super Bowl party, we recommend showing this one during halftime. Heck, you could even turn it into a drinking game — do a shot for every one of these she admits to saying.

Brook’s faves (probably because she’s uttered each of them in the past week):

  • “Are you going to Coachella?”
  • “I’m starting the master cleanse.”
  • “You want to split this with me?”
  • “I’m such a whale!”
  • and… “I die.”

Oh, and if you end up watching the game alone and can’t share any of this, don’t sweat it — 5% of Americans watch the game by themselves. The percentage may sound low, but it’s 11 million people!

Thinking of calling off on Monday? 7 million Americans are a no-show at work the day after Super Bowl Sunday. So you better have a good excuse….. or incriminating video of your boss :: cough, Brook, cough :: making a bunch of embarrassing fashion-related quips!

Have a good weekend, y’all!

Brook, who spent the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, sent us this picture last night with the simple text “Shameless!!!”

Brook Jay. William H. Macy. Annnnd that’s all the story we got.

She’s headed back to Chicago now. Hopefully armed with the details behind this encounter and many others. Stay tuned…

In response to Brook’s Sh*t Fashion Girls Say post from last week, Kate has sent along today’s gem. Also a take on the popular Sh*t Girls Say sensation, this one really resonates deep with most of us at All Terrain.

Do you know a project manager? Are YOU a project manager? Then chances are high that you’ve heard, thought, done or said a good number of these things.

Seriously. If you know a PM, you know how accurate of a portrayal this is.

If you are a PM, the desk wine and bathroom sobbing look awfully familiar. Bottoms up!

Sharing some nifty news to start a snowy Friday in Chicago — we woke up today to find All Terrain featured on CNN.com!

Extra rad that they chose a shot of us showing our Blackhawks love! But no surprise; the CNN iReport profiles our interview with Hawks owner Rocky Wirtz and his son Danny Wirtz, head of Wirtz Beverage Group. Both the Blackhawks and Wirtz Bev have been longtime valued partners of All Terrain.

The interview, conducted by our co-prez and CMO Brook Jay, first appeared here at AllTerrainJohnny on January 8. Apparently, the compelling piece received such favorable attention that CNN has elected to run it. Not bad.

The Wirtz spotlight was the first installment in our ongoing Q&All Terrain series, which celebrates our 13th anniversary by asking 13 questions of 13 brilliant business leaders. A new interview will be released each month throughout 2012.

Next month: iconic newsman Bill Kurtis and his longtime partner Donna LaPietra, a broadcasting powerhouse in her own right.
