After seeing yesterday’s post, in which a BMW billboard straight up smashes Audi, All Terrain’er Rob was inspired to send a similarly striking ‘you got owned’ photo.

He said, “I saw this somewhere with a caption that read, ‘Hell yeah I have an Acer and I’m not afraid to show it!’” Hilarious.

Of course it’s not news that Apple is the choice of the younger demo. But really, it’s so impressive to actually see such supremacy on display.

Your move, Acer.

This is a pretty clever satirical commentary and, regardless of beliefs, an entertaining watch.

Imagine if the first Christmas took place in today’s world. Suppose the story of the nativity were seen through the lens of our nonstop digital connectivity. Picture platforms like Facebook and Twitter playing a part in the pilgrimage to Bethlehem.

Credit to the video’s creators, Portuguese digital marketing company Excentric, for this imaginative re-telling of the Christmas narrative; “The Digital Story of the Nativity.”

Things are looking bleaker by the day for Blackberry and it’s manufacturer, RIM.

A Bloomberg report last week highlighted the company’s struggling stock price, calling it “a wounded puppy.” Ouch.

Today, Google announced it would end support for its Gmail app on Blackberry handhelds. Double Ouch.

In the wake of BlackBerry’s black future, we thought this was an interesting look at six other one-time tech titans who have gone from juggernaut to junkyard. From the Palm Pilot (remember those?) to AOL, the feature gives a brief product history, what happened and the lesson learned.

For optimal website viewing: Use Netscape Navigator over a dial-up Compuserve or Prodigy connection.

Ideas Worth Spreading
Started in 1984, TED is a small nonprofit devoted to spreading important messages throughout the world. TED began as a bi-annual conference (California and Oxford, England) to bring together people from the technology, entertainment, and design worlds, but over the last 26 years its scope has grown to include a wide range of topics within the study of science and culture. Beginning in 2007, TEDTalks have been shown on the TED website to give people on-demand access to some of the world’s most inspiring voices; which include speakers such as Bill Clinton, Robert Ballard, Jane Goodall, Al Gore, Bono, the founders of Google, and numerous Nobel Prize Winners, who are limited to 18 minutes to get their ideas across in the most creative way possible. Now having reached over 200 million online views, TED presents a highlight video of their 10 Best TEDTalks.
